Products

To make it easier for you to choose suitable products, we have selected and grouped them according to the course level to which they are applicable. πŸ’‚ πŸ’‚ πŸ’‚

Tinusaur courses go through several stages, which we have called levels (numbered 1 through 4) and detailed below, along with the suitable product selection.

FAQ: What age group is Tinusaur suitable for?

Tinusaur kits and courses are suitable for a very wide age range. Depending on the complexity of teaching the curriculum and the depth of going into the details, these could be students from 4th to 12th grade.

In the first section, the products for each course level are listed. Those are individual kits for each course participant. After that, listed are the classroom sets – tools and materials that everyone uses.

Level-1

The course Level-1 is a base level. It is mandatory before moving on to any of the next Level-2, Level-3, or Level-4.

The goal of this level is for everyone to assemble their first Tinusaur kit and learn how to combine knowledge from several academic disciplines, such as programming, mathematics, and physics, to create programs and interesting practical projects.

Each course participant must have their own Tinusaur kit suitable for this level.

Activities

  • Working with devices, for output: LED, buzzer; and for input: button, photoresistor, and other input-output devices.
  • Learning the basic principles of computer programming using Blocktinu block-based development environment.
  • Work on individual projects using the boards.
  • Acquiring knowledge and skills from several academic disciplines to achieve the project’s goals.

Addition Shield LEDx5

The Addition Shield LEDx5 is a board with 5 LEDs: red, yellow, green, blue, and white, arranged in a column. It also includes the necessary current-limiting resistors and headers to connect to the Tinusaur main board.

Level-2

The course Level-2 is an advanced base level that is recommended (but not required) before moving on to Level-3 or Level-4.

The purpose of the course Level-2 is to build on the knowledge and skills of the previous level. Everyone assembles the next more complex Tinusaur kit. Multidisciplinary knowledge and skills are deepened, and more complex projects are worked on.

Each course participant must have their own Tinusaur kit suitable for this level.

Activities

  • Assembling electronic boards and learning the basic principles of their programming.
  • Working with input-output and control devices. For input: magnetic sensor, temperature, etc.; For output: servo motor.
  • Connection between 2 and more Tinusaur boards.
  • Works on individual and team projects. Knowledge and skills from several academic disciplines are acquired to achieve the project’s goals.
